Send entry passes on WhatsApp
Add a WhatsApp opt-in to your registration form so attendees receive their QR entry pass on WhatsApp as well as by email.

Steps
- 1
Add the opt-in to your form
Open your event, go to Forms, and add the WhatsApp delivery checkbox. Attendees who tick it consent to being messaged; those who do not are only emailed.
- 2
Check the event name
WhatsApp templates have a fixed layout, so a long event title can read awkwardly. You can set a separate WhatsApp name on the event, and the dashboard title is used if you leave it blank.
- 3
Register a test attendee
Submit your own details through the public form with the box ticked. The pass should reach both your inbox and WhatsApp within a minute.
- 4
Check the delivery record
Open that registration. The Delivery panel shows each channel separately, with the number or address it went to and whether it was sent.
WhatsApp only allows businesses to start a conversation with a template approved in advance by Meta. We handle the approval with you; for a transactional pass or reminder it is usually quick.
Numbers must be Indian mobile numbers for now. Anything else is skipped rather than guessed at, and the reason is recorded against the registration.
Questions
Do attendees have to opt in to WhatsApp?
Yes. Only attendees who tick the box on the registration form are messaged. Nobody is contacted on WhatsApp without asking first.
What if someone gives a wrong number?
The failure is recorded against that registration with the reason — an invalid number, or a number not registered on WhatsApp. Correct it on the registration and use Resend.
Does the attendee need an app?
No. The pass arrives as a normal WhatsApp message with the QR code. A screenshot works at the door.
